Master’s Words

Every morning begins the same way: preparing the fire, selecting the ingredients, and honoring the craft. Yakitori is simple in appearance, yet every skewer requires patience, attention, and respect for the ingredients. My role is to bring out the natural flavors through careful preparation and precise grilling, one skewer at a time.

At Akari, we believe great food creates connection. Whether it is your first visit or your hundredth, my goal is to serve every guest with consistency, quality, and pride. Thank you for allowing us to share this tradition with you. I look forward to grilling for you and creating a meal worth remembering.

Fresh ocean air, mountain views, and exceptional yakitori. Akari somehow manages to deliver Michelin inspired quality from a food truck. The chicken tsukune was my favorite, and the tare sauce deserves its own bottle. I'll be bringing every visitor here.

I've eaten yakitori in Tokyo and honestly wasn't expecting this level of quality from a food truck. The chicken was tender, the seasoning was spot on, and the attention to detail was impressive. Watching the smoke rise from the grill with the ocean behind it made the whole experience unforgettable.

Akari has become my must stop every time I'm in Camps Bay. The skewers are beautifully cooked, the ingredients taste premium, and the presentation feels like something from a fine dining restaurant. The egg yolk and tare combination was absolutely addictive.

We saw the queue while heading to the beach and decided to see what the hype was about. Now I understand. The yakitori was smoky, flavorful, and perfectly caramelized. Great service, beautiful branding, and one of the most unique food truck concepts I've seen anywhere in the world. Akari is a gem.

Stopped by Akari after a morning walk on Camps Bay Beach and ended up ordering twice. The yakitori was incredibly juicy with that perfect charcoal flavor you only get from real binchotan grilling. The tare glaze was rich without being overpowering. Easily one of the best food experiences I've had on the promenade.
